Final exam Friday

I’m not nervous – at all…

And that’s the biggest lie I’ve told - ever!

I’m really trying to lower my expectations because I know it wont be my best exam – more like the worst. Without going into details, I have had some factors in my personal life, which have interfered with my studies. I might have the possibility of pushing the exam to a later time, but now I just want it to be done with it and enjoy my summer holidays.

Although I had decided to apply for another education after summer, I changed my mind and have applied for the bachlor in international sales and marketing. I’m now looking forward to enjoy 3 semesters with the same awesome people from the AP. I just hope I can get my motivation back to normal, so I wont waste my, and the schools, time.

Well, the exam is on Friday at 10.45. At this time I have made my presentation, but, as always, I’m considering to do it all over. Heh, I remember the HR exam project. Three days before the deadline I decided to do it all over. Typical me.

The problem is that I have 14 slides and are not done yet. It’s a problem because I have only got 15 minutes to present the conclusions. And I know myself well enough to say that 14 slides are more than 15 minutes.

Well better get on with it.. Enjoy yourselves outthere in cyperspace :)

Arg… I was attacked

By a vicious virus – no worries, it is gone now… But, man, was I worried..

I’ve tried one thing – didn’t work
Another thing – didn’t work
I third, fourth and fifth thing – still didn’t woork !!

Then my brother told me I should reinstall windows – and in effect loose all my programmes etc.. And yes – i did do a back-up of the final project etc. I learned my lesson when the old computers harddisc fried….

But but but.. Windows has this amazing feature –> restore everything as it were from a specific date where the problem wasn’t there! I did that, and all my problems were gone :D Happy, happy me…

A lesson learned from this (once again for me): always, ALWAYS ! make a back-up… You never knows what happens (like when my dad poured redwine over his work laptop – all data lost and an unhappy boss)

Well because of a lot of things, I’m a bit behind with the final project. But I’m on track and it will not take a long time to catch up… A small group of friends and I meets once a week to write together. Although we have different subjects and different companies, it is nice to have someone to talk to about the project or anything ells. You are a bit lonely when you are sitting at home and writing all by your self.

This weekend I’m going to this small danish island, Endelave, to have some time off and get away from everything. I’m ofcourse gonna bring my computer – how can I live without it. My boyfriend brings a book – I bring five ;)

Test run of questionnaire

I just launched the testrun of my questionnaire for schools.. Hope they will respond quickly so I can correct and launch the rest..

Well the practical placement is soon finished, and then it’s time for practical placement rapport and final project. 1 and a half month alone at home just studying and writing.. Can’t wait..

I’m pretty sure i’m gonna continue on the top-up programme, but we’ll see..

Well better get back to work..

Hallo my name is..

.. Louise, and I’m calling because I’m writting a project for my education about further education and competence development of floor managers and leaders. Can I ask you a few questions about that matter, or talk to someone who is working in that area in your company, please?

I really don’t know how many times I’ve said that the few past days, but at least few hundred times… Well, on the other hand, I’m not writting yet another newsletter or sales letter.

The questions for the companies are to help me get some insight in the companies´ decision processes when it comes to that matter. From the answers i should be able to make a qualified questionnaire, to send out to a sample of BJ’s target group. And then the fun can start. But *not nice word*, it takes time to do all the footwork.

In Denmark the spring is starting to make an entrance.. It’s nice to see all the beautiful spring flowers I planted last year popping up everywhere. Oh joy. Yesterday I spent some time in the garden, trying to remove the weeds before it gets too much. Last year I waited a bit too long, and I couldn’t see the plants that was supposed to be there, because of all the weeds :) I’ve learned my lesson.

Well, better get back to work.. “Hallo my name is Louise, and I’m calling……”

Enjoy yourselves :)

The spring is comming

and that is much more interesting to talk about, at least in DK, than all other things ;)

Well, it seems I’m getting real bad at updating my blog. Shame on me.. But there’s really not much to talk about. The past few weeks in practical placement have been more or less the same. Working on updating course descriptions, updating and editing her webpage, pre-write newletters (think she’s got until sometime in the fall before she runs out uf newsletter material) and doing some other non-related stuff.

Everytime I think I get some time to begin my research work, she comes up with something new for me to do.. To day I have spend at least 3 hours on writing a spring special offer for her book.. Because she wanted me to change some minor things all the time.. I can se why it is important to be as good as it can be, but sometimes it is just not worth it, money-wise.. If I had spend just as long on researching, maybe I could tell her soon exactly what her customers want, and how to communicate with them..

Well okay.. I have handed in my problem formulation for the final project. Nice be be on schedule with that. Think it’s gonna be a great time working on that. But still miss my classmates.. Especially those i’m not gonna meet on the top-up..

Better get back to finding a “more exiting and colourfull” headline for a sales letter I’m working on.. Take care :)

Practical placement – week 5

Things are a bit better now.. I’m editing her website and writing letters for people who are considering her education, but needs a bit more convincing.

Tuesday we have to hand in a draft for problemformulation for final project. Haven’t written it yet but have to get to it tonight. Also have to start on the report for practical placement soon.. So many things, so little time.. Well.. better get back to wrk now.. See ya

Practical Placement week 2

Second week has begun in practical placement.. It’s alright so far..

Haven’t done a whole lot of the really interesting work yet, but hope that’ll come soon.. I’m missing my class mates, and wish I had found a larger company to do my practical placement in.. This is kinda lonely. But i’ll manage…

At home everything is as it use to be.. My boyfriend is working and going to the gym all the time. Luckily my back pain is getting better so I can go to the gym with him.. I kinda missed him ;)

Well, at the momemt I’m waiting for the “boss” to get off the phone and, hopefully, approve a letter I have written to 50 schools in the area about her coaching education. She is a bit critical about newsletters and such, so there’s always something  she think I can do better… But I guess that’s alright

New semster

Market communication didn’t go as planned… Only got a 7, but that’s how it is. Think I was fed up with books and reading and all that, so I wasn’t as prepared as I wished..

Startet practical placement monday, which means a new semester is startet.. So far it’s allright. My “boss” knows nothing about marketing and have no clue what so ever about how long it can take to do a propor research, so I’m always trying to explain what I’m doing, and why it is important. However the research will not be as good as I could wish because a one man company does not have the resources to do pre-marketing research.. She doesn’t even have a vision written down. I guess it is not necessary if you only are yourself. But I hope she will eventually give me an opportunity to make at least a post-evaluation/research of her consumers, because this needs a lot less resource and can give some really good clues on how the customers behave..

Well better get back to the updating of her contactlists.. Some pretty boring  and time consuming work, but necessary if we want to contact them ;)

Have a nice weekend boys and girls. I will try and update soon..

Marketing Passed – Next stop: Market Communication

The marketing exam was a bit different than all the other exams we’ve been to the past 18 months..

First semester we had only written examinations.. Second semester we had one interdisciplinary oral exam, where we wrote one interdisciplinary group assignment which we presented individually at the exam and then the teachers could ask questions and such.. We also had our elective course exam (I had HR) where we wrote a synopsis from a case or a company we chose ourselves. We also chose the subject ourselves. This synopsis was our startingpoint in the examination as well

This year the COL examination took its startingpoint in one of two assignments we had made during the semester. We presented and answered questions relate to the presentation. The economics exam was writtin. The elective course exam (the next) is like 2nd semester elective course exam; a synopsis we present at the exam.

In the marketing exam we were given a case, had 60 minutes to prepare either a presentation or a roleplay (presenting findings to a board or selling something using the theory), and then we had 15 minutes to present.

When I got into the presentation room and read the case I had no clue about where to begin and where to end. When my preparing time was over I felt that it was rubbish. Heh and the chair I sat on in the examination room was broken so I kept sinking – I felt I had made a really bad presentation all in all..

But I must have done something right… Cause I got a 12 (which is, in case you don’t know, the highest grade you can get)..

So far I have gotten a 7 in economics, a 10 in COL and a 12 i Marketing.. I can’t complain ;) Well whish me luck on wednesday. Hoping to get another 12 – although a 10 will do ;) hehe

Next stop: Marketing Exam

As you might know I had the COL exam wednesday.. It went very well as I got a 10 :)

In the meantime the grades from Economics have arriveded (finally) and I’m among the top of the class with a 7. Nobody have got a higher grade. It’s a bit dissapointing but then again, it was a difficult exam. I’m just happy that eventhough I only got 7 i’m still in the top of the class..

Wednesday I have the marketing exam. And you will never believe how much there is to read. Well I’ve better get on with it again, so I have a chance of finishing within a reasonable hour..

See ya :D
